My husband and I were going to (finally) buy bedroom furniture in January (we're only asking for GCs from our parents for Christmas)...but I got a coupon from Bombay Company for 40% off any item this weekend
This would mean my $1000 bed will only be $600. It also means I have to charge it and pay it off in January. So it'll cost me a few bucks in finance charges.
Any thoughts? Here's the bed...I have been in love with it for months, since someone (esquiress?) posted it:

What's wrong with you??? YES! It's gorgeous and 40% off. I think you should get it. The finance charges won't cost anywhere near $400. Do they have no interest on their store credit card?
I know, I know! I just hate putting stuff on the cc, since we're trying to pay it off. But you're right -- our card is low interest, and it would take years and years to accrue $400 in interest! Now I just have to cross my fingers that it's in-stock at my store on Thurs...

YES!!! Its gorgeous and so worth $600! Can you get a new credit card with 0% interest and put it one that? (then pay it off in Jan and cut up the card)

Can you call them and if they have it, ask them to put it on hold for you? You could even offer to give them your CC # just so they will hold it.....

Thank you! I called them. They don't keep the furniture in the store...they just order it for you there, and then you come back a week later and pick it up. (No delivery charge.) YAY!

I did!!! Actually, it was this bed (I mixed them up ), which is very similar:
Since the 40% off could be used over & over, my M.I.L. bought us this nightstand:
I am going back tomorrow to pick out my nightstand...I can't decide if I want a matching one or not.
Oh! And re: the credit card -- we are transferring our balance to a Discover card with 0% interest for the next 2 years (when it will be paid off) so I won't pay finance charges at all!
