I'm just looking for reviews on what you think of it, how often you use it and specifically for what.

I haven't, but I think I've heard good things about it. What do Amazon.com reviews say?

Here are the things I would use it for if I had one:

- bags of shredded cheese

- chips, crackers, cookies

- leftover vegetables

- marinades

That's all I can think of at this time.

There are so many models that I got overwhelmed at Amazon reviews. I was hoping someone had a recent model that they recommend.

I'd like to use it for the things you mentioned, as well as using the jar sealing attachment to try to keep fragile produce fresh (raspberries) plus I read a blog where the woman jars lettuce and seals it and it keeps for about 2 weeks with her still feeling like she could eat it.

I just don't want to buy something I use for 3 months then hide on a top shelf somewhere.
