I am interviewing this afternoon for a supervisor position in my department. I NEED and WANT this job! I am perfect for this job and hoping anyone else applying doesn't stand a chance.
Please think good thoughts about me today and (if you pray) say a little prayer for me.
Send me well wishes and any last minute tips!
Update: Hi girls, I need some reassurance I just found out I'm up against some serious competition. I think my boss will give the position to her as she has supervisor exp. and has been here longer and they're close friends. I think the only reason she's interviewing me is cuz of co. policies and the formality. So sad, she wasn't up front w/me. . .
Update #2: Just got back from interview, I akwardly bumped into my supervisor in the bathroom & she said, "Oh we forgot to tell you were not making a decision until the end of next week" Whatever. I heard the other girl failed to let her boss know & probably had to re-schedule her interview until next week. I'm trying to stay positive but I feel like I stressed & worked hard preparing for this for 2 weeks when they already had someone in mind.
Oh! and they didn't even ask me any of the many questions I prepared for, they only asked about my qualifications: do you know this, have you ever done this, etc. . .
Thanks so much to the few who are thinking good thoughts for me!
Good luck - try not to get yourself all worked up (yeah, ok, right?) - be yourself - you are going to do great - you are prepared & if you are perfect for it, you will indeed get it & beat out all others! Sending good vibes / thoughts, etc your way...

OMG - BQ - are you sure? we'll see what happens - if that's true it really breaks my heart because I know how much you have been preparing. If that is the case, I think after it's all over I'd have to say something. But go in today, do your best & know that the best thing will happen. I am such a firm believer in "everything happens for a reason" & you never know when another opportunity will present itself quickly & you won't have time to prepare....
Go in with your chin up just like you were before - like you have that job - you never know what is going to happen. Saying a little prayer for you

BQ - how did it go? i read your update & i have to admit, i think it's kind of normal that you prepared for questions that they didn't ask - at least for someone who bothers to prepare! I am so proud of you for that (hope that doesn't sound condescending or mom-like, but you sound like I would be if I was doing this & i think a lot of people don't put in the time that you did). But did you get a vibe? Do you feel good about what they asked / how you answered? Wasn't it an internal interview? I guess my point is - shouldn't they kind of already know what your experience was?
I'm just a little teary eyed for you because i can tell how much you really want it & how hard you have worked for it. maybe I'm just PMS-ing.....
I do have to say this & it doesn't sound like you are in the same boat, but maybe it's why I'm internalizing your situation. I worked in a job that I had to moved up significantly - I was an AA for a loan officer at a bank & the head of my dept always said that he wanted to show people the progression, be an AA, get your degree, go through the credit program, become a loan officer...ANYWAY...I did just that - I had gone through those motions & was in credit which i HATED with a passion every day. When the opportunity came up for me to interview for a loan officer, they interviewed me as a courtesy (i felt) & hired someone from another bank. i was CRUSHED. But about 8 months later, a smaller bank came hunting after me, paid me a huge increase, and I was a big fish in a small pond instead of visa versa. I guess my point is that in hind sight, that job really wasn't for me & it was a blessing that I didn't get it. But it prepared me for the next thing that really was a great move for me. Some of that may apply to your situation or not, but my point is that in hindsight I saw the reason for me not getting that position that I really thought I wanted & deserved. For whatever that's worth.....

oh i hope that what you think they are doing isnt true and that you end up in the position.
but if not, (like Laken1), i believe in "if it is meant to be it will happen" so if it turns out that you don't get it- it just means something even better is just around the corner for you!
Laken1, I'm getting all teary eyed too! Thank you so much for showing me your support through this. I really need it (tear).
Sigh. At least I felt good that my supervisor didn't ask me any questions as she knows me well, although she is ultimately making the decision w/the main honcho. She's the one I feel she has chosen her friend already. Actually it was the head honchos who interviewed me, and from my prespective he agreed and related to a lot of the things I had to say & he *seemed* impressed, so I thought it went well under the circumstances. But since they're now saying they're making a decision until next week, when 2 weeks ago they said it would be tomorrow, that really doesn't give me any high hopes that I will be the one. But I am trying to stay as positive as possible.
don't be discouraged. it could totally work in your favor, and i still think you have a good shot, especially since it's not just your supervisor making the decision. they have to be fair (though sometimes being fair can suck) and interview both candidates b/c both candidates are internal applicants. who knows, they could hold the fact that the other girl postponed and forced them to delay the decision making process against her. we're all cheering for you and sending good vibes in your direction.
hey, try not to get too down on your prospects. I've been following your posts and just wanted to say good luck. You know, I wouldn't take them postponing their final decision until next week as a sign they have already decided in favor of the other girl. It could just be that they want to give her a fair shot as well before deciding...hopefully in your favor!
BQ- I was wondering if you got the job? I hope Friday was a big celebration for you!

Well, it's Monday, and they still haven't announced it yet. I flying out to Seattle today to meet our big client. My boss invited me to go, which makes me believe I might have gotten the job?? Why else would they take a normal employee out there? I asked her for an update on the position on Friday, but she kind of gave me the run around.
