Tomorrow I have an internal interview for an asst buyer position... if anyone can give me tips or advice on what to say and ask.. or anything that *I* might be asked, please let me know.
Thanks!
what do you think the trends will be next spring? (or whenever you start working)
what is your ideal (item you would be buying)
what (item you would be buying) would you buy if you had all the money in the world
what do you think this store does well/needs to do better?
how will your past experience help you as a buyer
how aware are you of competitors?
.. those are some the questions i got when i interviewed for a retail asst. buyer position..
good luck!
Are you able to handle multiple tasks at once?
Can you read an income statement or P/L?
DO you understand freight?
Are you strong with numbers?
What is more important---inventory level or service level?
Do you know what inventory market gain, inside margin, buying forward, inventory levels, service level, COGS, marketing programs, etc are?
How do you determine if it is a good deal to buy forward?
How do you as a buyer control rising gas/ freight prices.
PM me if you have more questions......
