I know this may sound crazy, but we had a little cool snap & immediately I need to change the sweet pink nail polish off my toes! i don't get regular pedicures (i'd love to but $...) but I do my own & they are ALWAYS painted. Do you change your nail color with the seasons or am I a nut? If so, what is your general fall color - I'm looking more for shade (such as they are burgundy or brown) but if you have a specific color recommendation, please make it. I think I have a nail polish addiction.
I wasn't sure whether or not to post this under this area or health & beauty, but here it is!

My toes aren't painted right now. I'm too poor to go to the nail place every week and I forget to do my nails myself, especially since I'm the worst pedicurist on the face of the Earth.
I loce deepish reds no matter what the season. The best deepish red in the world is OPI I'm Not Really A Waitress. Or Cover Girl's Cherry Brandy if it still exists...when I bought it, my whole dorm felt the need to "borrow it".
LOL! I went through the EXACT same thing this weekend. I feeeeel fall so I decided to get a super dark maroon shade..(Maybelline Wet Shine in Succulent ).
spring/summer: i love bubblegumpink, silver, and coral because they all look great against tan skin. i get so many compliments on the bubble gum pink.
i like silver cuz if i have pink toes, i'm wearing red and if i have red toes, i'm wearing pink and it just doesn't look right.
fall/winter: i still do the silver a lot cuz it's neutral. i also love a plum color because it works with pink or red and looks nice against the fairer skin color that i have in the winter. my favorite is OPI Lincoln Park after Dark, it's based on the Chicago line of colors and live near Lincoln Park in Chicago.

I also do my own pedicures. Maybe when I have more $, I'll have the lux of finding a good place to do it for me too.
I try to keep my colors within season. I like to wear hot pink and bright colors in the Spring and Summer. In the Fall I like to wear more dark, rich & muted colors.
I always have my toes painted, too. I prefer to do them myself - it seems like everytime I've gone to a pedicurist the miss a spot when painting or hurt/cut me somehow. I swear they were nice places!
My current favorite:
Plumberry Ever After

I have a horrible, embarrassing, disgusting confession to make. I haven't taken off my toenail polish in months. Seriously, I have had the same polish on so long all there is left is tiny smudges of Cherry red across a few toes. Everytime I get out of the shower I tell myself to take it off but I always forget. I totally gross myself out.
Usually I'm really good and always have my toes painted, usually cherry red or pale pink/pinky beige.
ETA: Ok I realized how gross that was and gave myself a pedi. Now they are a dark burgundy but I'm not too sure about it so I might have to take it off and do something lighter.
I always keep my toes painted too. I tend to stick w/ reds because they look good on my toes. My faves are OPI "I'm not really a waitress" and "the thrill of brazil".
My toenails are always psinted--usually a red or a pink. A couple weeks ago I was in a weird mood so I painted them teal. My BF said they looked very weird.
I am entirely too lazy to go to the nail place for a pedicure. :P I paint my own. In the summer, I usually paint them pink, coral, or light blue. I am addicted to blue nail polish for some reason. My favorite is "sky" from Loreal. For fall/winter I try to mix in some darker shades, right now my favorite is Revlon super speed dry in "Port" but I also like darker wine and brownish tones.
LOL Woops I'm in DYER NEED of a pedi' right now, but that's a different story! LOL I usually wear (in the Fall) natural/nude colors, right now my toes are painted with a natural color (what's left of it! LOL) called Champagne.

Mine are always painted. I feel weird if they aren't. I usually do them myself - honestly, I think I do just as good of a job as professionals. I treat myself to a pedi when i have an event coming up or something. I paint my pink or red during the summer and during the fall, I usually make them a little darker. Right now they are a purplish red.
Right now, a pearly whiteish color. But I did that 3 weeks ago when it was still pretty warm and I was wearing summer stuff.
Now that dark colors are in again I am looking forward to wearing dark colors like dark, dark, red and even super-shiny black. Just on my toes. My fingernails almost always stay sheer and short.

NylaBelle wrote: Mine are usually a metallic champagne color all year except in the summer when I paint them coral or bronze. I don't like dark nail polish at all. That's so funny because I HAVE to wear dark (or bright) polish. I hate hate hate my toenails though. I have a purply mauve on right now, but I think I want to do a raspberry color next.
Hehe...honestly, I think feet (especially toes) are disgusting in general, so I guess that's why I don't like dark polish (it draws attention to feet).
I hate those ads in magazines that are just a picture of a foot or feet. They gross me out. I don't care how airbrushed it is, I hate those ads!
mine are: OPI "My kind of Brown" which is actually a super dark vampy red... i have been switching between this and "O'Hare and Nails look great". I want to try "Lincoln Park After Dark" on my toes though. i did that color on my nails and it looked awesome!
