Another MP3 question
Permalink Closed

I know this has been discussed many times, so please bear with me.  I am looking for an mp3 player that is small and at is at least 1GB.  I am leaning towards an Ipod mini or nano.  I currently have an IRiver and I just do not care for it, mainly because it is only 256 MB, but also because Ipods seem more user-friendly.  I don't need all the extra functions, I just want it to play music.  Any suggestions?  What does everybody else like?

I got my nano about 2 weeks ago and LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!  I got the 4 gig and it is everything that I need.  I personally wouldn't get the shuffle bc you can't choose the exact song you want to listen to, you have to keep advancing the songs until you get to the one that you want to hear. PLUS, the nanos have new technology that prevent them from stopping and skipping like the older versions.

I know you don't care about the other functions, but there is a lot of really cool stuff with the nano.  Maybe I am blinded with love, but I think that it is perfect.

The final word on GREAT mp3 players

I have this, and I LOVE IT!!!  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16855603808 (Here is the manufacturer's page: http://www.cowonamerica.com/products/iaudio/u2/)

I also have a 4GB nano, a 20GB ipod, an 80GB Archos media player, a Rio, and an old iRiver.  The 20GB ipod (2G) is in my car.  The others sit around gathering dust.

This player hides in my fist.  It's flash based, so it doesn't skip.  It's not as delicate as the nano, so it doesn't break (please note all the info on nanos with breaking screens, scratched cases, etc).

It has a radio, a built in recorder (you can record voice, the radio, or any outside source with NO added attachments), displays lyrics, PLUGS DIRECTLY INTO a PC or Mac with no extra attachments, and get this....

You don't need software to put songs on it.  Just copy them over.  So if you want to move them back, you just click & drag them back.

It's about half the cost of the ipod or nano, and you don't need to buy _any_ accessories.  It even comes with it's own (very nice) case.

If you need more info, please ask.  I'm using this little baby every day and it's become the only player I listen to (I even removed my car ipod one day because the sound is better than what comes out of the ipod).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the Nano replaced the iPod mini, so I don't think a mini is even an option for you.  I love my mini, so since you can't get that, I'd probably get a Nano.
