If anybody has the Lucky November issue, there is an ad for HGTV's new show My First Place. Page 246-247 has a turquoise color couch nearly the same as the one I ordered. On the walls is the peach color which I think looks fabulous together. I was going to go for the tan, but I think peach will look tons better. My couch, chair, and ottoman that will be arriving in less than two weeks:
In the corner is this orangy color. I'm not going that drastic. Also the dining room faces the living room, and the wall facing the living room is painted red. Do you think I should paint that the peach color as well?
The living room with tan walls:
The formal dining with the red wall (I will eventually put dark brown dining furniture in here):
I really like the peach color. That being said if you are going to keep the red wall don't do the peach. I think it would be too much color competition. pink and turquoise can compliment each other but if you throw red in there it changes the dynamic. (I went to my room and grabbed some clothes that were roughly those colors when I just had turq and red it was good and the same with turq and peach but all three scared me) JMO
If you do decide to do it let me know how it works out. the red may be far enough away to make it work. love the room though I am jealous.
I agree -- all three together would be too much. You could try a deeper (or lighter) peach color in the dining room from the same color family. (This is something a lot of designers do.) That way both rooms would flow nicely and compliment each other, instead of compete. A deep peach would look especially nice with brown furniture, too!
That settles it then! Peach paint and dining room will be peach as well, maybe even a darker shade. I am not a red person, and I think peach goes with the exterior of the house better. The family room is in a light yellow, so that will flow better. I went to Lowe's and picked up a punch of paint chips. I have 9 shades to decide from. Now on to the bathroom...
