oh fun! did you buy a costume or put it together yourself? my roommate wants to find the pieces for her velma costume at a thrift store, but i think daphne's outfit will be a little bit harder to find!

Actually I did order my Daphne Costume. A friend who went as Velma bought a red skirt at some cheap random place and had it cut knee length. Then she took white knee socks and a white button-up and dyed it orange. She bought a chin length wig and wore glasses. I actually took some white tights and dyed them purple to go with the costume. Here's the one I got:

Well, today was our firm Halloween party and I dressed up as Pam/Pamela from Urban Cowboy. To those of you who haven't seen UB, I'm a late '70s/early'80s cowgirl: very fitted white button down, hip-length brown cord jacket, skinny jeans tucked in to high-heeled pink cowboy boots, silver/gold chain-mail earrings, silver chain-mail necklace, straw cowboy hat. I couldn't pull off "Sissy" from UB bec. (1) my country accent sucks and (2) can't wear shirts tied up at the waist to work. My daughter is/was a witch fairy.

I'm going to be a fairy. I didn't really want to spend money, so my sister lent me her white fuzzy fairy wings and I'm wearing it with a cocktail dress I have from Bebe and some gold shoes, earrings, necklace, and sparkly bracelet. I'm also wearing a gold sequin headband. Then my sister is going to do my makeup sparkly for me. Ta da!!
I was Grace from Will and Grace and my friend was Karen. She looked AWESOME. Hairpiece and everything. She carried a martini glass and tied prescription pill bottles to her wrist. I'm shorter than she is and although we tried to die my hair red, it didn't work AT ALL, so we sprayed it with red stuff from a can and you couldn't see it in the dark, so pretty much no one "got" me.
Being Grace Adler is hard. At least she has an awesome wardrobe.

My plans for the weekend fell through, so I didn't wear my pirate wench costume. However, Monday at work, the office is dressing up and I'm going to be Kate from Lost.
