Are you breastfeeding? Sometimes your body will purposefully hold onto an extra 10 lbs or so until you stop - so you'd be able to continue breastfeeding in a time of famine .
It sounds like you're doing fabulously anyway! It took nine months to put that weight on ... I'd say you have at least 9 months to get it back off! Yeah, yeah, I know I'd have a problem if it took me 9 months too, but whatever !

i breast fed and it went away in about a month. w/my first i breast and got back to my little jeans within a month. my 2nd one i breast fed but ate like a pig and it took me much longer
girl, have patience! i know, i know it's hard. i remember SQUEEEEEZING into my jeans for my 2-week postpartum appointment with my doctor. was i trying to impress her? haha! when i look back at pictures of me in those jeans all i can say is, "what was i thinking?"
anyway... i think you'll be suprised at how much more you will lose in the next 3-4 weeks. i think it took me about 8 weeks to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight. (and then i lost another 5 pounds because i couldn't seem to find a spare minute to feed myself with a newborn)
another thing someone told me (or maybe i read it) was not to even bother exercising for that first 2 month period because the weight will come off with or without exercise. i found this to be totally true.
hang in there... at least it's sweater weather and not bikini weather!
Thanks everyone. I am nursing - and I know you are supposed to eat MORE - but I eat even less since I never seem to find time to eat...so I am baffled that the weight isn't coming off. I guess I lost my patience because I hit a plateau (I lost 20 lbs in the first 2 weeks) - but Hotcocoa I really hope you are right and some more weight will come off soon.
I am 10 weeks postpartum and have lost around 40 lb, now I am at my pre-pregnancy weight, but I need to lose another 20 to get to my pre pregnancy weight before Chris. I'm going to go to the personal trainer on Monday .. anyway, HELLO you are only 3 weeks postpartum girl! Have some patience!! Just eat right, and do NOT starve yourself.. you are breastfeeding. LMonet is right, you do hold on to about 10 lb when you are breastfeeding, so that your body will always have fat deposits for your milk.
I had my daughter almost 2 years ago. Throughout my pregnacy I did prenatal yoga, so that helped in the first place. Afterwards, I have done Pilates... 20 min. 3 days a week. So easy and worthwhile. I am 5'9, but pilates make me look even longer and leaner. If you're not familiar, it's worth it to pick up a dvd. I got my first pilates dvd at target for like 12.99
