Apple has something similar, but I don't need anything extravagent - I need it to be under $50.

Actually, those are the speakers Apple uses. If you head over to Circuit City (or BestBuy or whatever favorite eletronics conglomorate is nearby), you might be able to find the older version on sale, probably under your price range. Also try eBay and Half.com.
