I ordered a pair of rainboots from BTR on April 2.
Apparently, they don't keep a stock of anything and so when I ordered my rainboots, BTR waited on the manufacturer to ship them to BTR so that BTR could then send them to me. This is not a unique practice, lots of online retailers do it. Problem is, almost a month later I haven't received my boots and BTR tells me that they haven't received anything from the manufacturer either. I'm expecting to receive it approx 5 weeks after ordering, meanwhile their website promises 2-3 weeks. This is unacceptable, especially considering the $10 shipping they charge.
Has anyone had a similar experience? Any suggestions on what I can do about it?
If I had known I was going to wait 5 weeks, I would have paid full price from the manufacturer.
Will they let you cancel the order since it hasn't shipped yet? I'd also send off a complaint letter to the customer service department and the president of the company. You may not get a response, but sometimes by contacting the head office you get noticed.
