Nothing. I might not even know that. I'm hardly a pro. I just like to try to guess where they got it if I like what the person is wearing. It is a game I play in my mind to entertain myself. I guess that sounds kind of f-ed up now that I vocalized it, but I don't look down at or up to anyone based on what designer they are wearing.

I was just curious - I found your response interesting -I guess I don't look at specific designers often enough to peg exactly who certain items are by - sometimes yes because they are things I look at, but now I see you are in NJ so I realize maybe that's pretty obvious there. I suppose I could never live anywhere near NY because I couldn't afford to keep up with the fashion / designer vibe there. i am the queen of the look for less! Not F**ked up at all! At least I'm getting better about knowing items by designer - this site is quite a fashion class!

I am the worst.

The first thing I do is check back pockets of jeans to see what the girls are wearing and if it looks good on them. When I first started really noticing, I wasn't too discreet about staring at girls' behinds...so I think that there's a whole crowd of LA hipster types who think I have a behind fetish or something.

Then I usually check the overall outfit to see how the colors and shapes go together. My eyes are then drawn to their shoes, and their purses. After that I'll notice face and hair and extra accesories.

1. hair - but i am a hair stylist, so of course i notice this.
2. makeup - usually if it's along the lines of "oh no she din't!"
3. clothing, if the outfit is well put together, well-fitting.

If I see a girl who looks really cute, I notice how she has styled herself. Like are her sleeves rolled up, what is the color combo, generally what is it that makes her outfit special.

I also check out the jeans. I can't help it. My mom thinks it's hilarious, and always quizzes me when she sees unique back pockets IRL or on TV.

I look at the overall outfit. If she looks stylish and put together, that's what I'll notice more than any specific piece she's wearing or what her hair looks like. If a girl looks cute and stylish, I'll try and figure out in my mind what it is about her outfit that looks cute or how I could mimic it to look cute and stylish myself.

Hair- especially if they are blonde, I look at roots.
Jeans- yes the backpockets

yeah, this exactly. Overall look/vibe/styling, because if I'm noticing someone in particular she either looks great in a really individual way or she's a train wreck. and I definitely have to confess to being a butt-pocket-checker. damn NY thing.

I hate to admit this, but I usually notice body type first. I'll think, "hmm, those tight jeans turn her into a muffin top," or "that girl is showing too much cleavage," "that girl has a great butt, I wonder if she works out or if she's just born that way."

Besides that, I do notice handbags, not for the brand, but for the style and color. And if the person looks good in general, I will try to figure out how they put the outfit together and I will usually check out what brand of jean they are wearing or their shoes.

I also admire and always notice girls who have flawless skin.

I usually notice the hair. I'm not interested in jeans, they all look pretty much the same to me... I don't really pay attention to shoes, either. But I do often notice the colors other women are wearing, I guess because I want to learn to be more creative with colors myself.
