Chanel obviously experienced much success with its Rouge Coco campaign, featuring Vanessa Paradis. They've dipped into the same pot again, only this time the honey isn't so sweet. I am looking at the newest ad (on page 19) in Lucky Magazine, and I am surprised at how poorly designed it is and how horrible the photography is. It looks like it was done in utter haste. It doesn't look as bad in this online pic, so maybe it is the print job in my copy of Lucky. Either way, the first campaign was so striking. I just couldn't take my eyes off it for as long as it ran - - which is rare. This is my Andy Rooney post for the week.

You know, you're right. I probably wouldn't have thought about it until you mentioned it, but the newer ad looks like it belongs to a drugstore line. There is nothing luxurious or "expensive" looking about it. I especially think that the font they chose looks sort of cheap. It could be a Cover Girl add if you took away the Chanel label at the bottom.
