After carrying around the same basic model (free with purchase) cellphone for the last 8 years I finally upgraded (bigtime!!!) and bought the Android for my phone plan. After lots of nonsense...returning it twice, etc...last night it finally kicked on properly.
I'm finally able to hit up the Android Marketplace.
Anyone else have one? Have some suggestions of useful apps? I'd definitely rather get the free apps, but I'm open to purchasing some if need be.
I just got one a few months ago, and I'm interested in this question too! So far I've only downloaded stuff like Angry Birds and Words With Friends and a stopwatch.

Oh! I can't believe I forgot to mention this. I have Evernote and I love it! It's basically a note-taking device, so you can take notes and attach pictures, links, voice recordings, etc. to your notes.
I love that it syncs all the devices you put it on - for example, before I leave work I can look up a recipe for dinner, copy it into Evernote on my work PC, sync it, then go to the store with my Android and use the recipe as a shopping list, then come home to my Mac and pull up the recipe while I cook.
