Hi all! I've just started making beaded necklaces and am looking for online photos for inspiration. I like beaded necklaces that I've seen in J Crew's previous seasons. I also like this site:
www.kepdesigns.com
And I am making this simple necklace for a friend (and myself), which is simple and cute. If anyone has seen any cute necklaces around (on celebrities or on shopping sites) or knows of any good websites with beaded jewelry pls let me know!
What about looking around Etsy for inspiration? Since they are already handmade, you might see something that sparks an idea for you to re-create or customize?
I usually just just color patterns/swatches for inspiration since I hardly ever see other jewelry that I like that I would want to make. However, I do keep my eye out for design inspiration and I've found that fashion blogs in general are a good place for that since you can get a wide source of stores/designers.
In fact, I'm trying my hand at necklace in this picture over the weekend (and apologies to the fashion blogger...I totally can't remember the site's name!).
Hi everyone! Boots - yes, I have since thought of Etsy and have been looking around there, although nothing has caught my eye yet. RelRel - that necklace is so cute! A bit too hard for my beginner hands - but I'd love to see a pic when you make it. KK - Ha! Sorry! But I can't wait to see what you are making. :)
I just finished my first necklace (on my own - I did two pieces before that but my friend was helping me so I don't count that). It looks cute but my workmanship is still sloppy (ie if you look closely you can see the wire poking out through the crimping bead at the class, uggh). I made a copy of the green one that Kelly Ripa is wearing above. My goal is to make 20 necklaces before I move this summer. Wish me luck!
