one MORE "career" opportunity...

so my brother who makes good money, but is cheap cheap cheap, sent me a link for a marketing company.  they do focus groups in different major cities (and surrounding areas) in the country.  they are usually 2 hours and you get $65 + and they provide food (usually weekday nights from 7-9 or 6-8).  my brother did an alcohol focus group and they walked him to a cab and paid for it plus gave him $75.  i just called about a soda focus group.  my bf did a shaving cream one (it was perfect, he worked, walked to the focus group, then met a friend for drinks with money in his hand).  i just thought i would share the link.  oh, and you answer a questionaire online and then they e-mail you when they have focus groups that meet your requirements.   you can also check craigslist.org and under the ETC. section in jobs and there are also focus groups listed there.

dc and detroit, i'm not an employee of them or know anyone who is an employee, but feel free to delete this if it is against forum rules.  i wasn't sure.

this might be especially great for SAHM and college students.

Thanks!  Surveys are a great way to make some cash.  I'm signed up with a few.  I've made anywhere from $5 (for ones where they just stop you in the mall) to $200 per survey.  They don't call very often though; most of them make you wait 6 months until you can do another survey.  So, the more I am signed up with, the better!  Here are some I'm signed up with that are nationwide.

http://www.plazaresearch.com/  (I haven't done any surveys there but I'm signed up.  I never seem to qualify for any of the ones they call me for )

www.consumerpulse.com  (I've been here a lot)

Be careful with this link. It was the only "abnormal" site I visited today (only other site I've been on were ST, Gmail and Weight Watcher) and now I have a virus on my work computer that i can't figure out how to get rid of without calling the IT guys and admitting that I was playign around at work...

Oh no!  How do you find out if you have the virus?  I went to that website, too, and my antivirus just ran out and I haven't gotten around to renewing.

yeah, my antivirus isn't picking it up wither. It's one of those ones where it's underlining random words and linking them to some redirecting server (I noticed it on Detroits stylethread and then again in the longer ST meetup thread- I think it was specifically in Bluebirde's post...I know it highlighted "goody bags")

I think you might be able to remove that through the add/remove programs feature.  My mom's computer did that.  It would highlight a lot of key words like vacation, games, and movies, and redirect you to a related site, but it was due to a more legit thing (maybe Yahoo! toolbar?) and it was an installed program.  Worth a try maybe?

hmmm...I found something that "might" be it, but I only administrators can add/delete programs. Ick. So far I'm not noticing it that much though (actually only in Detroit's posts- are you doing something weird Detroit?!) so I'm gonna ignore it for now.
