I'm officially a world class shopper!

I'm going to mystery shopping school for a grocery store chain tomorrow & then I'll be considered an employed "world class shopper" - i think this is the funniest thing i have ever heard. I can't wait to tell people that!!!!

On a side note, they are paying me minimum wage for the training class & i figured out that it will be about $40 before taxes - do people really live on this much money? I can't believe it & I have no idea how.

Definately many people have to live on that. It may be that some (a single-parent making that much) may get assistance of some kind) whether it be cheaper child care, child support, or something from the govt?

Tell me more about this shopping.. I have never heard of it. How do you get asked?

Hmmm...I'm a single mom now...and I don't use assistance...but I definitely live on very little.  After taxes and the non-opt-out retirement plan I take home about $8 an hour...then factor in daycare, etc...

Yes indeed it is very possible to live on limited funds...

edit:to clarify, I work at a university in a professional capacity...my hourly is $13 before witholdings

For this one I responded to a posting on craigslist. I also do some restaurants & got those companies from a list that i purchased for $25 - which is a stupid way to do it since all the info is free online, but live & learn I guess. The companies I have had the most luck with have been more word of mouth from other people who mystery shop.
