Is it a candy bar or a chocolate bar???? I worked with a lady who said "candy bar" and I think she was from New Hampshire. Sooo, is this regional as well??
For me (I'm from Seattle), a chocolate bar is like a Hershey's bar and a candy bar is a Butterfinger, Snickers, whatever. A Hershey's bar could fit in that category too.
i call it candy bar, regardless of whether it is made of solid chocolate or not. interesting, poll....my sister also mentioned the whole court v. cul de sac difference.

I agree with this exactly.. and I am in Eastern/Central PA.

agree. if it's just choclate, it's a chocolate bar. if there's other stuff in there, its a candy bar.
We always said candy bar, which always makes me think of Snickers, because my Dad loved those and my Grandma would always have one for him even when I was a kid and wanted a bite. I was one of those kids who wasn't allowed to have lots of sugary things, so a bite of Snickers was seriously a $10,000 treat.

For anything with chocolate in it, I call it chocolate "I need some chocolate." For anything else, I will just say candy. Oh, and this is coming from Washington.
