Bermuda... It's so pretty and much nicer than the Caribbean, imo. And it's not that long of a flight from Atlanta.

i've heard great things about bermuda as well. Also, i wouldn't pick Jamaica- while it has beautiful beaches, i went on spring break and wouldn't go back. you can't really travel into the city there and you are constantly bothered to buy things. i'm sure a resort would be different, but then you might be stuck on the resort.

I love love love Bermuda! We stayed at the Mandarin Oriental, and it's beautiful. But definitely book a premier or beachfront room, because the rooms in the main hotel are far from the beach and not as nice. Also, I'm guessing you will love the shopping there! It's very preppy!

Friends of ours went to Ikal del Mar in Mexico. Each suite has its own pool, and they said the pampering level was insane. They went to Playa del Carmen one afternoon/evening to shop and have dinner, but stayed put for the remainder of the trip. They booked it after a great review in the NY Times.

The Bahamas is nice. I've gone there and stayed at the Atlantis a few times. There are tons of restaurants and bars and I think a few pools for different activity levels. Did you mean a private pool like one that only you and your husband could go in? I don't think they have those. There was also a nice spa. I see a few people are recommending Bermuda. That is also a good choice. I went on a cruise there once and stayed at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess one. One place I would not recommend is the Dominican Republic. That was the worst beach vacation I've ever been on.
