I have to admit, I actually liked January Jones's dress...
I also like Olivia Wilde's, Jenna Ushkowitz's, and would like ScarJo's dress if it was sleeveless. A lot of the dresses just didn't wow me. Dianna Agron's dress was pretty too, although it was sort of plain.

January Jones always seems like she's trying too hard to me. She reminds me of Leighton Meester - their characters are so prim and proper that I think they try too hard to prove to the world that they are NOT their characters, and it just comes off bad most of the time IMO (I don't think Meester's dress here is a good example of why I hold that opinion, though).
I really do not like Angelina Jolie's. I think it looks like something Blanche Devereaux would wear.
I actually really like ScarJo's & Olivia Wilde's, even though I know a lot of people didn't.
ETA: I also really liked Christina Hendrick's dress. That big thing near her face could have been awful but I think she pulled it off.

Portman's dress looks like Fredericks of Hollywood to me, Angie could have done so much better, and agree January Jones was trying to hard and eww. Loved the looks of Claire Danes, Elizabeth Moss, and Emma Stone.

Agreed. How many times do I have to see this woman's little perfectly round boobs? I get it, you've got a great rack. Congrats. Do you want a medal for it?

I'll bet she does want a medal. Maybe if we give her an award for something next time she'll cover up? People's Choice for best use of Duct Tape as clothing?
I loved Scarlett Johansson's and Claire Danes's dresses. Is it just me or does Claire Danes keep getting prettier as she gets older? I mean, she was always pretty, but she just keeps looking better and better!
eta: I think January Jones's dress is just a bizarre disconnect. Her dress is saying 'I'm a sexy sexpot' but her eyes are still saying 'I'm cold and dead inside.'

I really liked Claire Daines, Elizabeth Moss (looked so beautiful), Anne Hathaway, Halle Berry, Kyra Sedgwick, and Kelly Osbourne (when I saw her in the pic I attached (her dress looks less striking in the series that D posted, so I don't know).
Dear Tina Fey,
I think you are a premier comedy writer and and excellent actress. I also understand that dressing up for these events sucks, but can you please look into something besides navy? Just once? It doesn't have to be bright or fluffy - - dark raspberry or (I'll cut you some slack) dark mediterranean blue or bronze?
Ok - - never mind about Halle Berry. I just saw a different shot of her dress, ick. I'll replace with Eva Longoria.

So true about Claire Danes!!! Her body is amazing and her eyes are striking. Whoever is styling her is taking a less is more approach which I think works well on a perfect frame. She wears the dress, not the reverse.
LOL re January Jones. She is still stuck in Betty Draper mode.
My fave of the night was definitely Anne Hathaway. It looked effortless but made such a statement.
So is it safe to say that green was the "it" color for the red carpet??

You nailed it.
But, honestly, I don't know why it isn't more often for the simple fact that the celebs literally do walk on a red carpet and green is opposite on the color wheel and therefore will make them stand out and be complimented.
I hate when celebs wear a hot pink color for the simple fact that they clash with the carpet in the background. Look at Julianne Moore's dress (which I hate) against the red carpet. It looks terrible. The dress would still be ugly in green, but I'd have one less distraction.
