One of my roommates is an artist and a few months ago he asked me to model for him (not nude, if you're wondering). We agreed that he would pay me $X.XX per hour and we had our first session Wednesday(2 days ago). I was expecting that he would pay me at the end, but he didn't and then I was just giving him time. Now it's 2 days later and he still hasn't paid me yet. I don't know if he forgot or is pretending to forget. I'm feeling massive anxiety bringing it up, but I need to straighten this out.
Could you tell me the best way to word it so that I don't sound passive-aggressive? I want to phrase it in a firm, but non-accusatory way in case he just spaced out. I'm going to have to settle via text too, since he's rarely home.
if it's only been 2 days I would wait a little while...maybe a week or so? Or if you have another session, just casually mention that you've written your hours down and ask if he needs a copy for tax purposes or something? Maybe that would jog his memory.

Can you be super casual about it? Someling along the lines of "Hey, you know people would pay good money to draw this face, and I'm only charging you x.xx. Can a gal get paid? I've got my eye on some killer shoes..."
Agree with casual route. Tell him you're sure he remembers the agreement, but you totally spaced on if he wants to pay you all at once or by session. Try to make it a "it's me, not you" sort of thing. It'll let him save face, and you'll get your $.
