For those who have highlights or have their hair colored, do you ladies use a shampoo or conditioner that is especially made for that type of hair. Do these color-treated products really protect out hair color???
I was looking on the Sephora website, and got interested in this shampoo by the stylist Jonathan, it suppose to be sulfate free, worth buying??
I say yes, but it's not so much using the color-treated stuff that does it -- it's more NOT using the other types of shampoos that can hurt your color. Clarifying shampoos, for example, can strip color, and volumizing shampoos can make your hair really dry & dull.

its the sulfates that are harmful to your color treated hair. i use Kenra Platinum Shampoo and Conditioner... their shampoo is sulfate free and the conditioner has natural conditioners in it. it helps protect the color from fading and is said to help it last 80-90% longer.
pureology is another great sulfate free shampoo as well. be prepared- sulfate free is a new technology and the cost of these products will be much more. also- some companies haven't perfected the "lathering" aspect of sulfate free yet (the sulfates are what give you the lather) so some don't lather as well as your reg. shampoos.
but i know that both kenra and pureology does lather really well!
I just got my highlights re-done over the weekend. My colorist said that the best drug store product for highlights is the John Freida line (I use sheer blonde). Also, if you have a Savon nearby, they are onsale for 2 for $10!
