wardrobe recs?
Permalink Closed

I'm looking for a wardrobe to bring with me to NYC, I have a closet, but I will take another one   I'm thinking Ikea or Ikea prices (target,etc)- anyone have any recs?  I would like some hanging room, as well as a side area to stack either sweaters or shoe boxes, and for it to not be too wide.

I have the Robin wardrobe from Ikea.  It might be too wide for you, but it has served me well.  One side is for hanging, then other is for shelving.  It only comes in blue or white, so that was the only drawback for me.  It is only $100.  It is also a *bitch* to out together (so my BF told me, I didn't even attempt it).

i have been looking at the pax shelves at ikea- damn it gets pricey!  With all the shelves and drawers I want it is near $500, if not over!

Oh, I know, it all adds up.  You think "Ikea=cheap," but not always.  Anyway, that is why I went with the Robin--it wasn't very attractive but it suit my needs perfectly.

Another suggestion... Check out the Container Store.  They might have something.  Also my Goodwill and St. Vincent de Pauls has some really nice furniture in it so you should check there for an armoire (sp??) or something.
