Fragrances we're obsessed with
Permalink Closed

Noting D's post about the apple-scented Nina fragrance, I thought it would be fun to post fragrances that we're obsessed with at the moment.  So, let's see, what bottles are you coveting, or what perfumes are you enjoying (if you already have it)?

Miss Dior Cherie
I don't own it, but I have been thinking about it so much that I think I'm going to buy it.

IMO, Miss Dior Cherie is more modern and almost edgier than the advertising suggests.  It's a lot less "pink." I was also surprised to see that it was listed under the mossy woods fragrance category on Sephora.  Here's the description from Sephora:

Notes of chic, green tangerine, violette, and pink jasmine mingle with soft patchouli, musk, and delectably sweet strawberry leaves and caramelized popcorn for a delicious scent that's truly irresistible.

I wish Dior did rollerball packaging because I don't like spraying perfume.

I've been wearing Coco Mademoiselle for about 6 yrs now and can't even fathom giving it up. But sometimes i do switch it up with Tom Ford men's cologne...and have even layered them on occasion.

Also, hi!! Haven't posted in forever, but have been lurking when I could. Site has been blocked at work :(. But no more!!

La Lune D&G - It's part of a unisex collection.. It is a nice every day fragrance, clean, crisp, floral but not sweet, lightweight.  I really like it but I have yet to receive 1 compliment so I'm guessing it's not a crowd pleaser.

P245904_hero.jpg

18 La Lune is a hypnotizing, boundary-shattering blend with a top of apple, bergamot, and lily; a heart of rose and tuberose; and a base of orris, leather, sandalwood, and musk. The impression channels a myserious, delicate character that is neither male, nor female, nor unisex, moving with dynamism to the free, edgy style that marks the D&G fashion empire.

Chanel and Michael Kors perfumes smell best on me. I love Chanel's Allure, Coco Mademoiselle and No 5 Elixir

FWAFW050LG.jpg

Clean and sheer, warm and sexy. Difficult to define; impossible to resist. Lighter, more relaxed fragrance form. Spray it lavishly all over the body. A subtle way to apply fragrance. Delicately light and softly sensual.

FWCOM010SM.jpg

Sexy, fresh Oriental fragrance recalls the irrepressible spirit of the young Coco Chanel. An elegant, luxurious spray closest in strength and character to the parfum form. The signature Classic Bottle is perfect for the dressing table or for traveling. Spray lightly morning and evening on pulse points at the throat and wrist.

FWN05388SM.jpg
This one doesn't have a description on Sephora.

Michael Kors
Michael Kors
Michael Kors is tuberose reinvented. Creamy florals explode into exotic spices, tamed by Moroccan incense. A fragrant creation with a wealth of personality that will capture the heart of every woman.

Notes:
Dewy Freesia, Tamarind, Chinese Osmanthus, Incense, Fresh Tuberose, White Wings Peony, Blue Orris, Arum Lilies, Cashmere Woods, Musk, Vetiver Haiti.
Style:
Sophisticated and sensual, warm and wearable.

I had Kors Island a while ago, but either my chemistry changed or it went bad, because I couldn't stand it. I kinda like the very hollywood scent of his, but I fear I will get sick of it too.

In general, I wish you could buy smaller bottles of perfume.

I had been looking for a new winter scent.  I previously wore Marc Jacobs Amber, but it's more of a body spash than a colonge so the scent faded very quickly.  I received ths for Christmas (I picked it out) and love the intereting mix of pinot nior and grapefruit notes.  It's got a crisp yet soft scent that's perect for winter.

P274708_hero.jpg

"I experimented with champagne and pinot noir accords to develop this effervescent scent." Lev Glazman, Fresh Co-founder

Housed in a chic, ready-to-gift white cosmetic case, the Citron de Vigne Collection is centered around a sparkling scent. Inspired by the sun-drenched days, earthy vines, and superior wines of France's Champagne region, Citron de Vigne Eau de Parfum features citrus top notes and earthy base notes that surround an innovative pinot noir accord.

Last summer I finally splurged on a bottle of Jo Malone Grapefruit and am so happy I did it.  I absolutely love this scent.

jm_L00A_lrg.jpgInstantly awakening the senses, Grapefruit is a lively, uplifting citrus with a spicy heart. Grapefruit and tangerine are combined with vetiver and rosemary to create this outspoken citrus scent.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb. It's the only perfume that I've ever bought a second bottle of; usually I tire of scents quite quickly and never use up bottles.

Sephora description: This floral explosion releases a profusion of flowers that has the power to make everything seem more positive. Magically evocative notes immediately awaken your deepest senses, giving you the impression of living life in your own secret garden, away from reality. Sambac Jasmine, Centifolia Rose, Cattleya Orchid, and Ballerina Freesia bloom on a base of Patchouli.

Notes: Sambac Jasmine, Centifolia Rose, Cattleya Orchid, Ballerina Freesia, Patchouli.

Style: Oriental. Gourmand. Floral.I'd say it's more gourmand than floral.

I also really like Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gioia, but it's too summery so I'll have to shelve it until then.

P271538_hero.jpg
Sephora description: Off the coast of Italy, the island of Pantelleria is a place where the deep blue-green Mediterranean Sea meets the sun and earth, creating a sense happiness, serenity, and optimism. This fresh, aquatic fragrance, whose name means, "water of joy," captures the simple happiness one can experience at this extraordinary destination. The fragrance's top notes rise like a soft sea breeze, bringing forward a sensual blend of cool mint, warm brown sugar, and the zest of Italian lemon. Next, the heart notes emerge with beautiful floral hints of jasmine, dew of peony, and traces of pink pepper. The base lingers on a uniquely Mediterranian trail of cedar wood and the complex, herbaceous accords of labdanum.

Notes: Mint, Brown Sugar, Lemon, Jasmine, Peony, Pink Pepper, Cedar Wood, Labdanum.

Style: Joyous. Aquatic.

pollyjean - I love Miss Dior Cherie! I can't wear it though b/c it gives me a headache. cry

Clothes_Horse...I totally let out a giggle at this.  Someone gave me that Paris Hilton fragrance last year as a 'I don't know you well enough to know what you like' Christmas gift.  More power to you if you like it...but I have to tell you...I ended up using it as a room deoderizer.  It was the perfect cover-up in the kitchen whenever I cooked with garlic!

A few years back a friend of mine won in a raffle and then gifted to me a bottle of Bond No.9 NYC Park Avenue. (I'm quite sure she had no idea how expensive it is) And I proceeded to fall in love and wear it every day. It felt like such a 'me' scent. Sadly, the bottle is now empty. And there's no chance I could ever afford another...so I'm sort of obsessed with it. To the point where the empty bottle is still on my dresser so I can sniff it from time to time!

I know what you mean.....I own four of the Bond Scents and can't get enough... Maybe buy one of the purse sprays or even one of the soaps. They do an awesome job with fragrance.

I'm not big into many perfumes but I LOVE LOVE LOVE B&BW's Spearmint Eucalyptus line. I will just sit there and take a huge deep breath over an open bath salt jar or freshly lotioned hands with that fragrance. I would wear nothing but that if my SO didn't dislike it so much.

I never use the same for years, since I get bored with it & so many new fragrances come out, need to try new ones:) So, onced LOVED Burberry (Burberry Touch among them), ANGEL by Thierry Mugler, Jean Paul Gaultier's (ladies corsettes), Dior DOlce Vita, I think I used VENEZIA by Laura Biaggoti for years .thumbnail.aspx?q=1574534984091&id=410324b3fd7d120a37689d46b7868b7c&url=http%3a%2f%2ffl2.shopmania.org%2ffiles%2fimages%2f10396%2fvenezia-by-laura-biagiotti-eau-de-parfum-spray-3-4-oz-for-women%7e10395978.jpg

My latest fave is Chloe

P276309_hero.jpg

I got it in rollerball, LOVE IT, so many compliments!

Also, tried Marc Jacobs "DAISY" in rollerball - in 15 min don't even feel I ever applied it, evaporates fast, very disappointed.

Still, for now CHLOE is the best!

I used to wear Venezia (well I'd spritz it in the dept store every time I went). I have been wearing Roma by Biaggoti recently (including 2 days ago!).

The fact that this thread is popping up again works so nicely with my lastest style resolution (to wear my perfumes more often). It's been so fun. I've been hanging out on Fragrantica.com - -love it.

I've rediscovered my appreciation for Amor Amor by Cacharel.

HI, Pollyjean, how funny, re: Roma by Laura Biaggioti: I used to have a close friend many years ago, in another country, she was crazy about this perfume & wore it only & always. Her idea behind it that it'd be her signature smell & everybody would think of her every time they'd smell it. So, mission accomplished, I love this perfume, but it does bring memories of her, we parted in a strange way & I wouldn't use it now, because of her:))))! Jeez....she spoiled it for me...:))))
