My friends father HATES this phone with a passion. Because it is so thin, he says it is hard to hear the other person on the phone. (The speaker is mini, in order to keep the size down.)

I got the Razr for my birthday and I love it. I hear everything fine... no problems with the speaker in the earpiece. Side note: the speaker phone works better than ever phone I've ever used (I'd rather use speaker phone thank hold it right up to my ear if I ever have to talk to someone while I'm driving). It's nice and loud and works from pretty far away. Although, I'm sure that wouldn't be a deciding factor... I think the Razr is great, but, as you can see, there are mixed reviews

Everyone that I work with has them and they love them. I asked them about the speaker thing and they let me try it. I called my dad who talks very softly and I can never hear him on the phone. I thought it was the same as any other phone I have used as far as the sound. It has a bunch of cool features too. I wish my phone company had them.

It is encouraging that some people like it! My husband wont let me get one because they sell them at the Costco he manages and people have been returning them like crazy!
