My family has always been a giftcard-giving type family. Now that we are all grown up, if we want something bad enough, we typically will just buy it ourselves, and we have our own distinct taste. So, giftcards have always worked for us: what could be better than shopping guilt-free at your favorite store?
So, my boyfriend really wants an expensive electronics item that starts with an I that I can't buy him. Since I can't, I would love to contribute to his goal the best I can, but giving him cash or a gift card for some reason seems strange to me. So, I searched for places that sell Visa gift cards and found giftcards.com. I found the option to put pictures on the gift cards so I ordered 3 with 3 different pictures of us on them. I then purchased 3 small items he needs/wants and am going to hide the gift cards in them. I feel that putting the pictures on the gift cards shows that I put thought into it and didn't just go to the ATM last minute and stick it in a card.
I thought I'd share this way of making giving a gift card more personal.
I'm not a gift card type of person, but I like that you personalized it with the photos. It shows that you put thought into the gift and that's what really matters.
