I know someone who knows her (she grew up near Milwaukee, WI) and he said something to the effect of "she likes sex a lot." I don't know what he meant by that, really, but I went to read the Real World cast info on the MTV web site, and they both say their favorite thing about Austin was each other.

I think Mel is a hoe. I loved when she went out drinking and partying and then she comes home and Danny calls right after his mom died and she starts crying saying she misses him. Okay, you were just laughing having a great time 5 minutes ago. Also, I hate when she prances around in underwear pretending not to notice the guys looking at her.

going back to the MTV generation gap- is it just me or does the Real World get harder to watch as the years go by too???

yes for me. I think it's because I realized I am too old to be ON the show. Also, I think the gap between my generation/peers (24-26) and the younger ones is much bigger than average because of all the changes in the world/technology. They just seem like they're living in a different world than I did at that age.

Yeppers, I agree. My new roommates are both 23 (not my choice, I literally couldn't find anyone my age who needed a roommate--talk about feeling like a loser!) and I'm not sure how this is going to work. I feel so much older and different from them. I'm definitely not at the place in my life where I want a roommate and they are. There is definitely a 'generation gap' there.

If it makes you feel better- I've been apt. hunting and EVERYONE I find is mid-20's to mid-30's. I am 22- can't find anyone my age! And if the new roomies are semi-mature, I think they'll remember the day when Real World was good and agree that its just not as interesting anymore. I'm a year under them and I wholly agree- I just liked it better back when the castmates were breaking ground and involved in the beginning of a movement. Now it can never be the same- the Gen. X'ers or whatever have grown up and the new generation doesn't care anymore (Have you read a Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius- perhaps you'd really like it. I think the writer is maybe 26 or so.) I feel very between generations. Now all tv is reality. Puke (though I'm a sucker for some of it still the same)
