1. What is/are your favorite department store(s)?

Hmm, I like what I am seeing online at Barneys- though I've never been.  Doubt I'd shop there on a regular basis.  For my lifestyle, I like Nordstrom for its customer service.  I love going to stores like Neiman's, but I hate their payment methods (cash or their own card- which I have somewhere but don't know where it is now- i prefer using my one visa for everything)

2. What is/are your favorite mall chain store(s)?

I like Sephora, i like it for little luxuries (if I'm spending $20, sometimes I'd prefer just to get one great thing, even if its just a lipstick).  I like Kenneth Cole as well, Forever21 when I'm in the right mood, Anthro and Urban, Barnes and Noble (i sit here and read magazines for hours sometimes), H & M

3.  What is/are your favorite boutique(s)?

South Moon Under around here, I love little boutiques I went to in NYC, like Dernier Cri, I do a lot of my boutique shopping online

4.  What is/are your favorite shopping website(s)?

www.goclothing.com, www.satineboutique.comwww.revolveclothing.com

5. Who is/are your favorite high-end designer(s)?

Comme des Garcons, Missoni, Marni, Miu Miu

6. Who is/are your favorite lower-to-mid range designers(s)?

Rebecca Taylor, Development, Trina Turk, Mayle, Michelle Mason

7. If you could shop in only 1 (okay maybe 2) stores for the rest of your life, what would they be?

Fantasy lifestyle- Barneys or Neimans and Urban Outfitters or Anthropologie

8. Who/What inspires your style?

Hmm wow.  Everything I see- characters I read about in books or see in movies or make up in my head.  I always think, what would I wear if I was her?  Like Lilykind, I love whimsy.  I also have weird dreams- theres this futuristic boutique that I have in Aspen and everything is white in the room and it looks very icy and spaceage, and then theres this little hole in the wall place in Italy where everything is very rich (velvets, leathers, cashmeres) and luxurious- do you remember the Buffy where Giles finds his dead lover by the trail of rose petals?  I hated that scene so much and it the place he was was so beautiful- I think it gave me a lifetime of these bad dreams.  Ok, the way I"m explaining this isn't making sense anymore.  I guess to me, style is kind of transcendental at times, because to most people, you are just passing through one frame in their lives and something you wear could trigger how they are feeling at that very moment.  Like if you are wearing a flower in your hair, it may remind them of their mother who used to always wear flowers in their hair.  Or if you are dressed in all black, it may bring back bad memories of their fathers funeral or something.  I guess because in my opinion, most people don't break down fashion into designers, seasons, pieces- I do at times, but the majority of the world isn't as technical with it.   To me, fashion is like a fantasy, or a glimpse of the past or the future.  I don't usually think of something as very "NOW" for example.  I always try to think about what is next or skip back a few trends so that I wear something that people have forgotten.  I think people give clothing style and meaning and life.  Haha, that was a terrible answer.  I would be a terrible interviewee.  But it really is true that everything is inspiring, sometimes I will look at a thumbnail of an image and see something entirely different then what I was expecting when I make it larger, then I really want the sweater I imagined the thumbnail to be.  I like mermaids and fairyprincesses too, as well as English Roses.  I'd have to say though that books and movies are the most inspiring to me because I just haven't seen enough of the world yet =(

9. Who is your style icon?

Kirsten Dunst, katherine hepburn, Rachel Bilson, Marguerita Missoni, people that are creative and beautiful with a little bit of a timeless style

10. Describe your style.

I am all over the place   I love beautiful well made pieces, and things that are on the unusual side but still classic.  I love east coast style, west coast style, english fashion, japanese fashion- I would call myself current and educated on the trends, but i'm not trendy by a longshot.

This is beautiful and so true. Thanks.
