$998 is the price on these two. Anyone know where I can buy a cheaper version but still good quality?

These are from Anthro. has anyone seen these in person? I have but I dont remember if the material would hold up for my cats claws. He dosen't scratch but for those that own cats, know that their claws come out here and there. I have a cheap rocker (the material is)  and hes pulled out the material and its starting to look very ghetto!

I'd try La-z-boy or JCPenney. I've heard good things about both, and they should have something similar.

It will be very difficult to find the same quality for much less.  Those chairs are eight-way hand tied construction, which is pretty much the best you can get for upholstered furniture (I use to sell high end furniture).  The thing that worries me about these chairs is the fabric content, it is cotton/linen.  In furniture, 100% natural fabrics are less durable than syntheics.

I would suggest looking at Broyhill (not all, but their indulgence line, it has a drop in coil which is the next best thing to eight-way hand tied), Bernhardt and Drexel-Heritage (the dh line or the Drexel line, their starting to mid price range).  There are some other lines out their that are similar to these lines, but I'm not as familiar with them.  I would go to a furniture store in your area that carries mid to high end furniture and look at some styles and then pick some fabric from there and then they can show you what price range you are in.  I would think you should be able to get some within the $700 range (depending on what fabric grade you select).  Plus, those chairs from Anthro cost $75/ea for shipping, so you're really looking at $1073/ea!

If you have any specific questions for me, feel free to ask or PM me
