Vancouver anyone?

My b/f and I are planning a trip for our 5 year anniversary (yikes!!).  We are thinking possibly Vancouver. Our anniversary is on Sep 15th, but we would want to travel any weekend in Sep-Nov.  Would Nov be too cold to travel to Canada?  Any tips or advice would be welcome!

Vancouver is wonderful. Its a really neat city. November wouldn't be a terrible time to go but b/c it is a coast city, you can pretty much guarantee rain.

Its very easy to get around, they have a great transit system. There are lots of fun shopping/sightseeing districts: Robson Street, Yaletown, Granville Island, Lonsdale Quay, Gas Town and Metrotown Mall. Plus there is Capilano Suspention Bridge, Stanley Park, the Sea Wall, Vancouver aquarium, Grouse Mountain, Chinese Gardens. Also about 1 hour away is Whistler Blackcomb which is a really cute ski resort/mountain bike town. There is lots to do there. Also b/c its a very multicultural city you can get great food: Thai, Indian and amazing sushi.

Just stay out of East Hastings, it's the scary junkie area. Other than that Vancouver is great, have fun. I can try to answer any other questions if you think of something.

Great!  Thanks for the quick reply BrazenCanadian.  I am going to look into flights, hotel, etc.  I am sure more questions will come up and I will be sure to post!

We're heading to Vancouver for Labor Day weekend!  I found a couple of websites with good hotel deals.  Let me know if you want the links!

Love, love, love Vancouver.  Can't really tell you anything specific, because I was there for a work conference, but we ate at some amazing restaurants and had fun at a few bars.

There is an amazing jewelry store about 6 blocks from the Sheraton...I really wish I could remember the name of this place...I think it has Ruby in it...or something like that.  It's two words...Anyway, sorry for my rambling, but if any of the Canadians on the board know what I am talking about, maybe they can tell you the name and you can get something shiny for your anniversary!

I'm a little late, but Vancouver is a really great city to visit.  We go up there once every couple of months to just visit or see bands.  There is a lot to do and the food and shopping are fantastic.  In addition to the neighborhoods Brazen mentioned, the area around 25th and Main is really thriving and there are some really cute boutiques there.  I also love the Kitsalano area.

It is also just a couple hours from Seattle in case you want to visit us here!
