i did! my thoughts...overall i was satisfied with it. i think they did a good job of wrapping everything up and it was interesting that alan ball both wrote & directed the finale since i felt that the tone/imagery was a lot lighter than it's been for the past couple of episodes.  there were parts were i felt it was kind of dragging (maybe a bit boring), but i have the shortest attention span ever -- so that could be an explananation. and i LOVED, LOVED, LOVED, the end. like the last 5-10 minutes were perfect. i thought it was an amazing and creative way to sum it all up. after the end the beginning made much more sense and made me feel hopeful, which is not how i felt when i was actually watching. i had already teared up 1 or 2 times during the episode but i cried so much during the final minutes, especially after keith. actually i'm tearing up a bit while i type this. anyway overall very well done.

I agree honey - I loved the last 5-10 mins..the way they ended it.  The best was as Claire was driving and they flashed forward and showed how everyone died..I loved that.  Though I was very sad w/the way Keith died   But overall, it was very good.  I'm sorry to see this show end

My bf and I haven't watched in forever, but we caught the last 15 minutes while we were waiting for Entourage to start.  How did Peter die?

I thought the ending was great! It was very bittersweet. It made me cry. Poor keith. I could just imagine David living without him. I'm so glad Claire married that guy. I think he was perfect for her, he balanced her out. She needed something normal in her life. I was satified with the ending.

It's kind of a good thing the show ended, because I don't think I could handle anymore crying!!! The last few episodes really made me think about things I prefer not to think about at age 27. It was getting too depressing! I always have to watch something happy afterwards. The show was great though, I think I'll miss it.

Question though: What was going on with Maggie? Why was she in the hospital when Ruth called her? I thought for a second she was going to be pregnant with Nate's baby.

I was thinking the same thing about Maggie - they kind of left that story unresolved.  She was at the doctor's office?  Was she pregnant?  We'll never know I guess.

iirc the backstory on maggie was that she was a pharmaceuticals sales rep. or something along those lines. so i don't *think* the fact that she was in the doctor's office had any specific meaning, esp. since she was wearing a suit. i think it just shows that she had resumed her pre-fishers routine.

It was a good finale.  I watched it again Tuesday (I think).  The first time I watched it, it took a minute for me to realize they were really showing the way everyone was going to die (very appropriate, given the themes of the show), so the second time I was able to absorb more...like to notice Brenda's new husband, or that one of Keith and David's boys was sitting at Claire's wedding with a boyfriend.  I loved that Claire ended out eventually with Ted (nice guy, despite his political shortcomings) and also how at the end they focus on her eyes as an old lady and then back to her young and looking around... and that she outlived everyone.  Claire was my favorite character in the series - I think she's a remarkable actress and hope to see more of her.

The Keith part was SO sad, and when they show David just before he dies seeing Keith in front of him all young and handsome... I just started bawling.

I just got all teared up reading dc's post and I haven't even watched the last two seasons (cancelled HBO).  I can't wait for these to come out on DVD.
