Here is the room I'm putting together. I've come across some lamps I like. From left to right, I think I like the first one, the design in the faux wood looks neat and would give the room some character. Also, do you think the color on the walls are too dark? I think it's almost the same color as it is now.
I don't think the walls are too dark. You just need lighting in there. I'm with you I like the first one better and I think it would look better in the room.
I love the ottoman/coffee table. Where'd you find it?
Anyways, as far as lamps, in my opinon (interior design school dropout lol) I wouldn't go with a lamp with a wooden base. There's so much wood already in the room. The room also has an eclectic feel, so I would go with a fun contemporary lamp. I'm thinking a lamp that has a clear glass base and white shade would look awesome. Here's an example:
I do not like this one in particular, but I just wanted for you to see what I'm talking about. I'm too tired to try to find a better one, but you get the idea.

The coffee table/ottoman is from Macy's. It's a little expensive (on sale for $700) so I was leaning towards something like this brown leather ottoman to double as a coffee table for only $228:
I had already looked at some lamps with a glass base, they cost more. I was hoping to spend under $100 on a lamp, but this one is $150. It will probably be worth is since I really don't want to put a dark base lamp on a dark wood end table.
