re: the "dating persona"- I think that is definitely it. I used to do that as well, not necessarily because i was trying to hide things from someone I'd like, but because I'd be nervous around someone that I liked or thought was cute, and wanted them to like me back. It resulted in no dates, but all my guy friends or guys I didn't like started to like me! There's def. an allure to a girl that is friendly, confident, goofy and open. Don't get me wrong- mystery and not coming on strong are important too, but that can't really be ... forced, i guess? No point in being mysterious if you really just wanna randomly drive to the shore and spend the night doing crazy things. Cute guys just intimidate me sometimes- its easier when I don't think of it like that and don't worry about whether they like me or not. Just be yourself and try to forget about how badly you want a boyfriend (way easier said than done, but may actually result in best potential matches)
