coconut water

I'm just getting over food poisoning, and my sister recommended coconut water to help rehydrate (don't worry, i'm putting down tons of water too). But, I am not loving the taste of coconut water. Any suggestions of what will mask it? She used milk for her son, but I don't drink milk.

Masking the taste of coconut water is likely to involve adding more sugars, which could make your stomach go haywire again.  Vita Coco, for example, already contains 15g of sugar per serving.

You can simply enhance your regular drinking water with a teeny amount of baking soda, sea salt, and agave nectar or honey, or you can try Gatorade or some other sports-drink (which will also replenish electrolytes).  Dilute it with some water. That is what my doctor recommended because she doesn't like the amount of sugar contained in those drinks.

Recipe from Dr. Oz' website
Ingredients
1 liter of water
1/2 tsp of baking soda
2 tbsp of agave nectar
1/2 tbsp of sea salt

Directions
Combine all ingredients in water bottle and sip during workout as needed.

That's for the reminder about that Dr. Oz remedy. I saw it on his show and completely forgot about it. I did drink a G2 gatorade but I don't really trust gatorade or powerade for some reason. Seems hard to believe that the sugary stuff they are pedaling will help much.

I'll try the Dr. Oz recipe when I get home and will just have to keep on with the water I guess.

Are you drinking it from a coconut, or from a package? The packaged stuff is aight; you might prefer it fresh.

We always buy Pedialyte for kids, they make an unflavored kind if you don't like those syrupy flavors.
