Since then, I have treated myself to much nicer skincare and make-up products for my face, and I have seen the difference in both my skin (more even and less prone to breakouts) and my make-up looks like what I want it to look like. Also, my mother swears by Chanel skincare and make-up products, has done so for at least the past 15 years, and she looks AMAZING for her age.
The same goes for new haircuts! I always forget how important it is to feel good about your hair until I get a good haircut.
yes, yes, yes! i was going to add that about haircuts as well. totally agree.
I absolutely think that investing in hair and makeup (both time and money) is incredibly important to both feeling good and looking good - maybe even more so than clothes (gasp! I hope I don't offend anyone there )
And yet, I still feel guilty spending much on makeup. It doesn't make sense. But I've been gradually upgrading my products (except that I adore Wet and Wild mascara.. I've used it since middle school and it's amazing) and every time, it's been well worth it. I can't wait til I can upgrade to Chanel!
ooh I'm jealous. I want some new makeup so badly. Can you list what you bought (colors and all??) I spend over $100 every time I order from sephora which is a few times a year so I don't think $300+ for an entire face of makeup is bad at all.

sure, here is the makeup that i ended up with: (i also bought an exfoliator/face scrub and an anti-aging product which helped bring the total up a ton... so the makeup itself was probably under $200)
i think you should only feel bad about it if it becomes a crazy habit. i studied painting in college and still do paintings (but on a smaller scale) now.. although not professionally. for my entire life, i've had a problem with makeup.. mainly because i attribute it to painting and get hooked on a beautiful color or shade. i've done alot worse in $337 in my time.
lately, since my ban, i realized that what i actually need is far less than what i actually buy. if this lasts you a over six months and you use them everyday... what's really the cost per use? live a little!
