I like the nickname I gave my mom's dog. Her name is Lily, but I call her Lilster. For some reason, I think that's hilarious. Actually, any variation of that dog's name amuses me-- Lilybug, Lilybear, SillyLilly....whatever. Dogs are so amusing.
Haha...this is funny. I like the nickname I gave my mom's dog. Her name is Lily, but I call her Lilster. For some reason, I think that's hilarious. Actually, any variation of that dog's name amuses me-- Lilybug, Lilybear, SillyLilly....whatever. Dogs are so amusing.
We have a friend with a dog named Lily. When we call her, we say "Lillers" in this obnoxious screachy voice. Its quite funny. LOL
I nicknamed my son Beeb, so my current favorite word to say is Beeb and Beebster. Came from over-pronoucing the word "bebe" or also the British nanny way to pronounce baby, on Nanny 911 one nanny pronounces it, "Beh be," and it cracks me up. So if she were to say babe, it would sound like beeb.
I also like to pronouce Spanish words with an accent. My husband is a 2nd generation Mexican American with no accent except on certain words, like fajita....fuh-HEE-tah, menudo....men-oooh-doh and I now have dialect by association, so I pronouce those words like he does.

"Aluminum" is my favorite word to pronounce. I teach physical science and we do some basic chemistry and that is one of the elements we learn. Anyway, ever since I saw 'The Blue Collar Comedy Tour" and heard Larry the Cable Guy say "aluminum", I can't help but think about the way he says it whenever I have to say it in class.
