Debbie Gibson and Tiffany to appear in Syfy film

Too bad they wont be calling it the Battle of the Teen Queens."

THR reports that former 80s teen pop sensations Debbie Gibson and Tiffany have been cast opposite each other in a Syfy original movie.

"Mega Python vs. Gatoroid" will feature Gibson as a fanatical animal-rights activist who frees illegally imported exotic snakes from pet stores and releases them into the Everglades - where they then morph into super-sized menaces - while Tiffany will portray an over-enthusiastic park ranger out to save endangered alligators.

The pair, who used to battle it out on the charts, have starred in Syfy productions before, but this film marks the first time they will appear together.



I wouldn't normally watch a show like this, but I have to see Tiffany and Debbie Gibson together in a show!

Syfy is getting lamer and lamer. I remember when they used to actually produce quality TV shows.

That being said, I now totally have "I think we're alone now" running through me head...

Although SyFy's movies are god awful, they actually have some pretty good tv shows (Eureeka, Sanctuary, Warehouse 13, etc).

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) Syfy found a way to make its Debbie Gibson-vs.-Tiffany movie a little more weird: adding a Monkee.

Micky Dolenz, a former member of the popular made-for-TV 1960s group the Monkees, has been added to the cast of Syfy's "Mega Python vs. Gatoroid," in which 1980s pop stars Gibson and Tiffany have been cast as dueling rivals.

Dolenz's post-Monkees career has included directing for TV and theater. The 65-year-old most recently appeared in Rob Zombie's remake of "Halloween." "Mega Python" is about to start production.
