I'm a look-cute-to-go-shopping kinda girl, so I usually end up wearing my most recent purchase on my next shopping trip because it usually becomes the cutest thing I own (of course!). The thing is, I always feel weird about wearing my purchase back into the store that I bought it from, especially if they still have it out on the floor .
Does anyone else have thoughts on this? Is is something that you'd never do, or something that you couldn't care less about?

I guess I'm weird, I'll buy things, and not wear them for months at a time, and by that time, they're usually off display! LOL But I see your point, and I would feel weird also, but like Claudia said - sometimes you simply just don't care! LOL

I used to not do this because I was scared they would accuse me of stealing the items. Haha. But now I realize that they would never do that...I hope. Sometimes I do feel sort of weird still doing this, like the s.a.'s think I'm addicted to the store or something. Heh.
I do that too. My reason is a little more paranoid... I don't want to come out of the dressing room wearing MY new piece of clothing and have people assume I stole it or forgot to take it off.
i've been "caught" doing this at my favorite store many, many times... it's unavoidable since half my wardrobe is from there. and by "caught" i mean that a sales girl will proceed to comment on my cute bag, adorable skirt, etc.
i actually think i get better customer service because of it though...

i was just going say the same thing. when i see someone who is wearing "our" clothes, i pay more attention to them because i feel like that person has shopped at the store before, likes our merchandise, and will probably be more likely to purchase from the store. that being said, i don't discriminate if someone is not wearing the merchandise or anything like that, i just know that the other customer is interested in the product and maybe not so much of a browser.

Haha! This is hilarious! Once when I was in Target I saw this lady ask this other lady wearing a red shirt a question. The lady wearing the red shirt said she didn't work there! One thing I don't like is even though your wearing last season's or even last years, they may assume you bought it off the clearance rack and are only interested in clearance stuff. But sometimes there is an advantage like when I was in Coach with my Coach bag, they were all giving me lots of attention and complimenting my bag. So they saw I had one and knew I just wasn't a browser and actually a shopper.

I've had that happen-a CSR commenting on my skirt I bought at that store-fortunately I had bought it several months before, so i didn't feel as self conscious. I think it's funny when I see other customers in the store wearing merchandise from that store. (At Anthropologie, it's very obvious!)
I mostly shop @ two stores (one clothing & the other accessories) & end up wearing something they sold me. I walked into one store yesterday wearing the jeans I bought one week earlier & was later told another shopper tried them on b/c she saw me wearing them.
yeah, I try not to do this, it kind of feels like you could have just walked out of their dressing room and you don't want the sales associates eyeballing you.....I am one of those shoppers who likes to be left alone by associates, because I take my time browsing and hem-hawing! of course, I usually don't dress up to shop, either, so this really doesn't happen except in casual, non-obvious designs. I frequent Gap a lot, and I am sure I have worn a Gap stretch T (My faves, I have several colors) inside Gap within a month of purchasing it there.

I kind of have the opposite problem. When I go shopping with intent to purchase (as opposed to just browsing and chatting with friends), I will wear jeans, a cute top, and some comfortable shoes. I hate to have some cute complicated outfit on that I have to take on and off. So, I guess I am one of those customers that can be potentially ignored (except in stores where they recognize me). I always think when I'm at BCBG that the sales associates wonder when I wear all the stuff I buy because I rarely wear it back there (yeah, like they care, but that's what always goes through my head).
