Okay, if these kids are so rich why do they all drive cheaper cars? Stephen has an old truck, and that one girl only got like a $20,000 car for her graduation. And Lauren carried a fake designer bag.

i think theyre rich, but not SUPER rich. i think they are just really comfortably well off. also it seemed to me that stephen was on the lesser side of really rich, OR he just liked having a truck. the oc is a pretty expensive place to live in general, but i dont think that they are celebrity rich.

my take is that some of them are upper middle class/upper upper middle class (Kristen, Stephen) and some are reallllllllly wealthy (LC and her awesome house, new girl Cacee?, maybe taylor or alex? one of them bought those ugly $600 Dior shoes on a whim) I think LC carries a cheaper bag just because she thought it was cute? Paris Hilton has some expensive things but also cheap (and cheap looking) things too. Plus the money isn't hers, its her parents, so I doubt that everything she buys is super expensive. I can't believe I just typed all that. I need to get a life.

all i know is that they wear a ton of bcbg on the show (working there, i watch tv totally different now!!!!), and when i was in h.s. my mom sure wasn't going to dish out for me to regularly wear bcbg. i was the age of express, black pants, colorful top....which is a lot cheaper than bcbg. i agree with lynnie in that some have a ton of money (L.C. etc...)while others do, but maybe for the o.c. don't (stephen, kristin, etc..). don't worry lynnie, you're not alone. since i've been bruised up, i've been catching a ton of shows that truly are guilty pleasures.

laguna beach is a TOTAL guilty pleasure of mine. i hate kristin LOVE LC and I miss LO like crazy (my friends used to tell me that she reminded them of me)....

i do not like the 2nd season thus far but that won't keep me from watching. it feels a lot more forced than the last season but that may be b/c kristin is carrying the show and she is a total bitch and doesn't have much of a personality.

So when you say that it's a reality show meant to look like a fake TV show, does that mean it is real and they aren't scripted?

Scripted - It isn't scripted but I wouldn't be surprised if it's like every other reality show where they "suggest" topics of conversation/film only the segments that discuss such topics/etc.

Airport - I don't even care if she knew or not. They are just so cute together!! And that airport scene was my favorite of all the scenes last season. I wish they'd devote some time to Stephen and LC's history. I'm still a bit confused by it all.

Cheating - I know! I was just talking with a friend about how Kristin cheated on Stephen with Sam last season too! She argued with me but I'm glad to have some validation. I totally think it was with Sam. Poor Stephen. Cheated on and made to look like a schmuck. He should be smarter and just choose LC.

I can't wait for tonight's show!!! Why can't they all be 1 hour long?

if she didn't know, she really proved some kind of acting ability because her whole face lit up when she saw him. i loved it.

there was a preview where stephen said to LC, "what would happen if we had a real relationship?" or something like that, so it makes me think that they have had some flings or what have you and might get together?!

i just hope that if Stephen and LC decide to get together, Kristin doesn't get jealous and go after Stephen and him fall for it and get back together with Kristin.

last nights episode thoughts (8/1):

1) I really like Jessica and feel kind of bad that her friends are ganging up on her about her bf and that her bf is such a hot jerk. She seems nice but very young at the same time.

2) I don't get the hatred for Taylor. I really don't. She doesn't seem that bad at all, even though I know we don't see all of it. If anything, she seems a little "fake", but a lot of people like that seem fake when that actually really is just their personalities. But nice enough so its hard to say.

3) Kristin is being A LOT meaner this season. I loved her last season because I thought her and stephen had good chemistry (especially when they were both upset when he was leaving, watching the sun rise- I felt like I shouldn't have been watching that moment) and thought she had moxie, even though at times she was bitchy and annoying. LC annoyed me because as the narrator, it was like she was always talking about wanting stephen, and it embarrassed me for her because her lifelong crush was now the subject of national television and the guy clearly wasn't all that into her. Now that LC isn't the narrator, I like her better than I used to. She has such an awesome house and laguna is so pretty, I'm jealous.

4) Lo looked a little rough last night. Sounds horrible, but true. I know she's not a movie star, just a normal person, so I wasn't too hard on her, but I was still shocked.

5) Kasey (new girl), ew ew ew. I agree that she seems soooo fake, just everything.

Lynnie I totally agree with you.

1) casey is not a person I would like to hang out with, totally fake, all she did was talk about herself.

2) I love LO but she did look bad last night.

3) Kristin is ALOT meaner this season, I think she is doing alot of it for the show. But she does not annoy me as much this season as she did last.

4)I don't know I really don't like most of the people on this season, I want last season people back, they were more entertaining and less annoying.

5) oh and I do feel bad about Jessica, but then again, and knows it is going on she just doesn't want to face it. Why did her and dieter break up to begin with?

I couldn't agree more about Kristin - she is so mean this season, but I really think she's "acting" and doing it on purpose. But it's really annoying. I can't stand her narrating the show, and I was LC was doing it again.

I definitely liked the people on last season's show better - they had better chemistry and it just flowed better, but I'm a nerd and I'm still enjoying this season!

I like Jessica - she's cute and I feel bad for her that her boyfriend Jason is such a dog, but at the same time, she knows he's shady and she puts up w/it because like she told Kristin - she can't get any guy she wants. That's really pathetic. Plus, I hate how she always asks Jason "you swear? swear on our relationship?" that is so annoying!

I still like watching LC and Stephen the best. He spent the night at her house! Did anyone else catch that?!

YES!! I saw that and how they said they stayed up til 4 a.m. Eating breakfast together, they so have the whole friends with benefits thing going on. But I don't know why she puts up with it. He still calls Kristin (well not last nights epsiode)

Yess!!! I felt so bad for thinking that LO looked bad, but usually I have always thought she looked so pretty and classy! This time I actually thought "who's that pregnant girl??" I don't know if it was too tight low rise jeans or what?? but she had a pooch and some bad acne.

I can't stand Jason, he couldn't act less interested in Jessica, poor girl! I also thought his hair looked really bad and matted down and full of crap, but I thought it was just that stocking cap he was wearing to "scare" the girls, but it looked the same the next day! I think Jessica is way cuter the Alex too!

Don't even get me started on Cacey, she looks like a hybrid of a horse and a barbie doll.
She has gigantic teeth and her hair extensions either look like horse hair, or the actuall hair on real barbie dolls. Yuck!! I could really do without her this season.

I can't wait to see what happens with Stephen and LC!!!!! Looks like some good stuff is coming up!

I caught the sleepover thing too! How fab was that? Although my parents would never have let me have a boy sleepover like that, even if I was in college. Hell, they wouldn't now. Maybe they weren't there? I suppose it's beside the point.

Kristin is SO mean this season! Did y'all catch the stuff she was saying in that boutique where that girl worked (forgot her name) who Jessica was asking what happened the night before? Wow - that sentence made such little sense. Kristin kept saying everything in the store was ugly but what did she expect - look who worked there. What?!? That's just mean. Of course, I don't know the whole story. Maybe she's sticking up for Jessica because that boutique girl was friends with Alex or something. I don't know, but still - it seemed mean to me.

Lo - Love her! But agreed, she looked a bit wrung out last night. It was just her hair to me - and her eyes. They looked a little, and forgive me, methed out. I thought she looked like she was on something. Maybe not, maybe she just didn't bother to put a lot of effort into herself that day, which is cool, but it was different from last season, for sure.

Jessica - she annoys me, too. At the same time I feel sorry for her because she's constantly picked on by her friends and used and abused by her boyfriend. I thought it was sad the way Jason walked up to her and hugged her when she was mad. The little faces she made were so... sad. I can't think of another, better word. I would have cried in high school if I were her. I would have recognized a pity hug when I saw one - or maybe more appropriately, a get-out-of-jail-free hug. Whichever. That hug was the beginning of the end.

Forgot about this!!!! I caught something last night that really got my attention!!! I remember someone saying something about drinking on LB the forum and about how they either do or don't drink or someting?? Anyway, I caught an old high school trick of ours last night...

When Jessica, Kristen, and that other blonde girl were driving home from Dave and Busters
Jessica was in the back holding 2 things, a diet coke can in one hand, and a water bottle with light brown liquid in it in the other!! Last time I checked water wasn't light brown!!! I think they were pulling a little "vodka and coke in the water bottle" routine! Made me reminiss on HS so bad!!! Good times!!
