I've worked as a relationship manager for the past year for a major software company and on Friday got an offer for an internal transfer to product management! Yay! I am so excited!
Loved my job as a relationship manager keeping the clients that used our products happy, but am looking forward to actually taking all the complaints/suggestions I've heard in the last year and developing that into the products we sell! Plus, I won't have to travel 90% only 35%!
While it's considered a lateral move (manager to manager), in terms of prestige and moola, it's a vertical one...
Just had to share...now I can't wait for the 6 weeks of transition time to come to an end...!!
Congrats! Now maybe you'll have some more time for that cute guy in the office...it was you that has/had a crush on a boy in the office, right?
Wow...good memory. Ah, we had a mutual "crush", but he moved away (got a better job as a Product Director--we are still in touch)...AND I am moving to San Diego, so even if he hadn't left, I wouldn't see him.
Congratulations! It sounds like you made the right choice moving here and taking the job...I know the travel must have been hard on you (Hartsfield is not one of your easier airports by any means). How exciting!!
Whoa - just read your later post - you are moving to SD? I envy you. You sure didn't spend much time in the South! *s*
