Flirting with boys for fun
Permalink Closed

I am single for the first time in a looooooong time. I had a four-year relationship, about a week of a break, and then I jumped right into a new 1.5-year relationship. Now that one is over and I am single and ready to mingle.

I still miss my bf, so I don't really want to date. I just want to test the waters a bit, so my friends and I are going out this weekend.

How do you flirt with boys?? I am older now (29) and I can't imagine guys my age being flirty and approaching me. How do you get boys to talk to you? I don't think I have the guts to talk to them first ...

I just want to know what it feels like to go out, be single, flirt, and go home ALONE, happy I socialized a bit.

Thanks girls!!

don't worry, it's like riding a bike (though i never did learn how to do that!).  but seriously, it'll come back to you as soon as you're in the right environment. and don't worry about guys coming up to you, they will.  since it's been a while and flirting seems kinda intimidating, just go w/ the intention of making new friends.  so smile and be friendly, and don't worry, no one's rating your "flirting skills" or whatever. have fun!

I was going to say the same thing as esquiress - I PROMISE - it will come back. And "boys" of all ages flirt with pretty women. I agree with smiling & appearing as open as you want to be - but remember that is dangerous - the men will be beating each other up to get near you!!!

I remember after I left hubby #1, I holed myself up for about 4 months, then went on a girl trip to the beach in Destin - GOODNESS GRACIOUS!! I remember on the way there my friend saying that guys bought them drinks & me thinking that was crazy & wouldn't happen....HELLO - on the way home I was in a "oh, now I remember" mode that I kept until I met my current husband (in destin on a girl trip a few year later - LOL). So trust me, you will remember, & watch out for wedding rings (something i forgot to do & at some point ended up on a date with a married man - who actually wasn't wearing a ring).

Update: I went out with my sister last night. It was pretty uneventful.

But I guess you meet people when you least expect it, right??

I guess I just need to put myself out there more.

It does happen when you least expect it, and usually when you're just being yourself.  Case in point--I met my husband one day at Starbucks when I popped in after being at the gym.  I could not have possibly looked more unattractive, but I was in a good mood and wasn't putting up a front at all.  I agree with the other girls--just be yourself and smile.  The good thing is that you know you don't NEED anyone.  I swear, once you have that realization dating is a LOT easier!
