Honestly, I have to find out her hair secrets. If anyone watched Conan O Brien last night, she was on. And her hair was unbelievable! It was so beautiful!! I would die to have hair as shiny and silky as hers.
I couldnt find a pic, but I guess this one will do.
if i cut my hair to that length it would look like that lol. that would be like an 8 inch trim! she probably just takes good care of her hair. Plus it is dark and doesn't look too fine. Things that I think make my hair look shiny: taking hair vitamins/other vitamins/eating apples/eating protein (I take zinc, b6, hair/nails, flaxseed oil, and mulitvitamin), dying it darker brown with a glossy semi-permanent rinse, brushing it carefully and not too often, trimming it often (I am BAD at this- i get my hair cut like 3 times a year), shampooing every other day with a moisturizing shampoo, conditioning, and not using heat styling. I blowdry my hair about once every 4 months. I think that helps.
How do you get your hair glossed? Does it work? Is it expensive? Does it damage your hair the way getting it dyed does?
I try to take care of my hair as best I could. I'm experimenting with a bunch of different hair products and shampoos. I got the brunettes expressions by pante pro-v, but I can't really tell if it's doing anything. I also got Mane & Tail (I'll confess, I read in a magazine that SJP uses it, so I fell for it and bought it!). Again, I can't tell if this conditioner is good. It's alright, but sorta light. I'm going to start deep conditioning every 5 days, and continue using light conditioner on the other days. I also do wash my hair everyday, which I know is bad-- but when I don't wash my hair, it always feels dry and stiff after the shower.
As far as leave in stuff, I haven't really found anyhting amazing. Dove was nice, because it's really light, but I don't think it's dramatically making my hair softer and shinier. I've tried Frizze-Ease, but I don't think it helps too much. I've also tried Neutrogena TRiple Moisture, and I don't think it's that great either. And I like Infusium, because its easy to use (i put it in a spray bottle) and smells nice.
Does anyone know any leave-in products that really really work?!
I mix Paul Mitchell super skinny serum and Paul Mitchell super sculpt in my hair after I use leave in conditioner(usually Biolage). My stylist got me hooked on these and they have made a big difference.

my absolute favorite leave-in is Phyto 9 or Phyto 7. They are overpriced at $22 for such a small amount, but they are my favorite by far. I use a small dab (dime size amount) rub it in my hands then smooth through ends. It makes a difference. I would hate for you to spend the money but not like the product, so get them to pour you a sample at Sephora.
there is a reason hair product companies always use brunettes to show off shine products- they obviously reflect the most shine!!
some great shine products are: aquage beyond shine (aerosol)
kenra platinum silkening gloss (serum- but not oil based so it doesn't weigh hair down)
also, you can talk to your hairstylist about getting a clear pigment color applied to your hair- it basically adds a shine and gloss to your hair without any color. also, if your hair is damaged, try a deep conditioning mask once to twice a week (depending on how bad your hair is) and you will def. see some results!
