I do a lot of sewing and I recently saw a pattern for a cute pair of pants with pleats. They are cropped and their shape is so cute. I really like the slouchiness look of them. However, I keep hearing Stacy & Clinton from WNTW ringing in my head saying pleated pants are a nono. What do you think? Here is a pic of the pants and the line drawing:

My first thought is that nothing is ever really a no-no if you figure out how to do it "right".
However, I don't really care for the way those pants look on the model. The cropped length makes her look sort of stumpy. When that is combined with the fullness of the legs and the pleating at the waist, it just don't look very flattering to me. And that's on a model.
Maybe if the top was a bit more streamlined? Or if the pant's length was longer?
i think it could be cute if you paired it with the right top and you'd have to wear heels with it. the top she's wearing is way too big for such a loose pant, i'd go tighter on top. a bunch of long necklaces would be cute with it, too.

I have seen styles/pictures I like online, but I think you have to be about five foot thirteen to look good in real life. I don't care for the ones you posted. A loose slouchy shape is better in a thin drapey fabric IMO.
