help me find a wedding spot

ok, we decided we are doing an very small destination wedding- just us and out parents. we honestly don't care where it is, but it has to be "somewhere" so that we have a reason to not be inviting our million other relatives. So a beach somewhere would probably be ideal. Who wants to help me find a place?

Our only parameters are that they or some outside vendor will perform a wedding ceremony, that they have availability this Fall (preferably November, day doesn't matter), and we'd like to keep it as cheap as possible. So 6 people, probably 4 nights, plus air from either DC or NY.

Thanks for helping!!

edit to add- so far our front runner is Canoa Coral by Hilton in the DR. The entire package comes to 4,033 including the ceremony and 4 nights at an all inclusive resort. Can we beat this price? or at least find somewhere a little more English-friendly so I don't have to get all my documents translated?

How about Mexico? Puerto Vallarta, Cozumel or Acapulco?

Also, Sandals resorts in Jamaica, St Thomas, etc. give you your wedding for free if you honeymoon there.

of I should have mentioned before- I looked at Mexico and am kind of sketched out by it. They require blood tests (see inncoent confession post ), and more than that they require that it be done there. And I'm not so sure I want to trust random doctor in Mexico to be sticking me with a needle.

Also looked at Sanalds and they seemed expensive- $2,000 a night per couple without air, which is also not cheap.

Maybe try a carribean island without doing sandals.  They all have other resorts.  Maybe one is cheaper.  I don't like that blood test in Mexico idea either to tell you the truth.  Also check discount airlines for cheap tickets - jet blue, song, southwest, ata.  You maybe be able to find a deal there.

Have you considered Bermuda?

Here's a link to The Knots destination wedding page - they have some Q&A stuff as well as suggestions for places that might be helpful.

FYI:  Even though they have a couple of resorts in Jamaica on The Knots sight, I would highly recommend against it.  Or if you did want to go to a resort there - DO NOT LEAVE THE GROUNDS - it's really unsafe to do so.
