I found a cute pair of leather oxfords at the thrift store this week, finally! They mostly fit, but are technically a size too small and would be more comfortable if they were stretched a bit. I stuffed my feet into them with big fat socks on to stretch them a bit and it helped, but not quite enough.
Should I take them to a shoe repair place and have them stretched? How much does that cost, ballpark? I could also buy shoe stretchers somewhere and DIY, do you think somewhere like Bed Bath & Beyond carries them?

I've done both. Gone to a cobbler to have shoes stretched and done it myself. My cobbler did my first pair for me and then sold me the supplies to stretch shoes on my own when I went in to take a second pair (I had bunions). The do it yourself method works the same IMO. He sold me the stretching solution that goes along with the shoe stretcher thingy. ..In the long run you'll save $ by doing it yourself.
The leather on these shoes is super thick and stiff, so I think I'll take them somewhere instead of DIY, only because all the inexpensive shoe-stretchers I found got bad reviews and I'm not cool with paying $40 for stretchers to put in my $5 shoes!
I found a place to take them that gets good reviews, but they must be super busy because they will NOT pick up their phone. No matter though, they are in the same parking lot as my fav thrift (bwahahaha!) so I'll take them in this week.
