and I really like it but the color is richer brown then I was expecting. I also bought it in a small to wear around my waist. Do you think that this is worth $90?
Sorry if I sound harsh, but IMO wearing a belt that thick around your hips makes your torso super-long, which makes your legs look kinda short. I like the idea of the waist one, though I'd have to see it on to make sure.
I think what's killing me is that I don't like the idea of paying $90 for a belt that could be classified as trendy, but at the same time most belts that are cheaper will look it. Have you tried looking for cheaper alternatives?
I really like it, but I think your shirt should be slightly shorter than the one you have it with. Maybe only 2-3 inches below the belt to avoid that "short leg" look lilykind referred to. That's one of those items you really have to pay attention to proportion with.

Unfortunately, I am super picky and don't want a really cheapy looking belt. Do you think that this is overly trendy? I was thinking I would work it more like this:
It is pricey, I agree, but I'm scared I won't find something similar that isn't too trendy or just as pricey. I saw these belts on other sites for $124.
I really like the belt. Although wide belts worn on your hips are trendy, I think you will still be able to re-surface it later because it is unique. I am sure you will find different ways to wear it later and still look current. As for the fit, I think its partly the angle of the pic, partly the proportions of the outfit that make it look a little off. You should try playing with it in other outfits, like the one seen in the anthro model. If it works with your wardrobe then I'd keep it.
I just saw your second pic, and I really love it that way!

i agree with rocky. i think the angle of the pic/mirror might be making the first outfit look off (though imo, it looks cute) and i like the second look a lot. also i'm biased b/c i think belts are a really good investment. though $90 is a bit steep, if you can swing it, go for it. i have some big belts from the last time they were kindy of trendy (like summer 2002) and i've gotten so much use out of them. and they've really helped make some of more blah outfits so much cuter.

honey has hit it right on the nose. i think that the first outfit was a little weird (but i think the angle of the mirror and possibly the camera has to do with it mostly). you have a good body and i didn't think outfit #1 was the best way to show off the belt. i could see it without the jeans and maybewith your mayle wedges? the second outfit i like alot better. it seems more in them with the attitude of the belt. i think in the first outfit, the other items weren't working because they were too blank (not that anything about your wardrobe or the way you dress is plain). i just think that something about the first outfit doesn't seem as effortless or pulled together as the second.
i think that the belt is worth keeping.. yes it's pricey but because it's a good quality item you can resurface it over and over years down the line.
I love it. I think it's a great belt, that can be worn many different ways. $90 for a wide leather belt really is a pretty good price if you think you'll wear it. So, if you already have a few outfits in your head with which you'll wear the belt, I think it's a great purchase. Also, even it belts are "trendy" right now I think that belt is a piece you can wear even when the trend is over, especially if you really love it.
please don't return this belt..it is soo beautiful, I can't see your outfit pics (mainly because my job blocks anything from shutterfly) but I bet it all looks great. It's a great investment piece IMO. It would be a lovely way to jazz up any outfit.
Thanks guys! I'm keeping it! I know its pricey but I haven't really bought all that much lately and can't see myself buying much more til August- just an Orioles tee and finally the gold Reform Design tentacle earrings. And for once in my life, I don't *need* any pricey shoes. haha. Just some $40 mocs to wear with cords.
