Now, as you know, I'm obsessed with fitness. I've never been one to count calories because I'm not trying to lose weight, and if I am, I know what to eat and how to step up the workouts. But I was curiuos about how many calories I actually do consume and I'm blown away by how much I can eat with only 1,000 calories. Here's what I've eaten so far today and it adds up to just over 1000. (I plan to eat another 500 at least today)
3/4 cup kashi cereal w/ skim milk
vegetarian grilled chicken w. veggies
1 yogurt cup
1 banana
1 crystal light
Amy's veggie/rice/tofu bowl
1 fudge bar
1 cup strawberries
1 pudding cup
1 mini propel water
1 egg white and soy cheese sandwich
Is it just me or does that seem like a lot of food?! I want to scream to all my friends that starve themselves on eating bite sized portions of mac and cheese or mashed potatoes that if you eat the right foods, you can eat a ton!
Sorry, this is kinda a rant. My friend the other day ate a fruit roll up for lunch because it had 'only 15 calories in it.' I'm just sick of girls my age starving themselves and now that I see how much you can eat with minimal calories, I just don't understand. Okay, I'm done. Thanks for reading...
I agree completely!! You can get a lot of food with 1000 calories and really nourish your body since veggies and fruits have so many vitamins in them. Junk food and tons of bready things are really where it adds up quickly.

Hey Jen, could you post how many cals in each thing and what brands/types you ate? (Not that I don't believe you at all but I'm always looking for some new lo-cal foods to incorporate in my day. I get tired of the same old thing.) TIA!
i used to use fitday.com too & i was in shock. i would eat a ton all day long & it would only add up to about 1200 calories. i thought it was wrong so i stopped using it, but i know ur sposed to have about 200 calories for a snack & my yogurt is only 90 & my fruit is probably well below that. so i guess i am lacking in the cal dept.
wow, that is pretty amazing. I do need more calories than that though. And I like rich foods. But sometimes that vegetarian stuff tastes good. I complain about my little pooch, but if I could eat like you girls I'd be so svelte!
we are going to a fitness spa on vacation and the meals are supposed to be gourmet and really good and you eat b/t 1200-1500 calories daily and they say you can't even notice/
hubby is a little nervous though. i told him he could take some balance bars and hersey bars and cashews Just in case.
