Was talking online w a gf who was mentioning something about what she sees when she "Googles" herself. I started "Googling" myself, and a page appeared in which I was on a listing for being friends with my ex's dog. I then curiously googled his name, and what did I find, but a bridal registry at Bloomingdales!!!
This September he was emailing me that he still loved me, how could I forget what we had, etc., IMing me that we should be friends - when I replied "I will try" he said we should be "more than friends" - of course I said no. Guess when he got engaged - early September!
She is pretty and a financial analyst with a masters degree. And he is an abusive alcoholic who couldn't save money or keep monogamous for his life. I don't get it. I am only bothered because at this point I am MORE than single and learning of this news makes me ARGHHHHH!
Oh boy - my first feeling was of compassion for the poor woman who would marry him. I wish her luck.
Do you remember that email that made the rounds a few years ago about things every woman should have (pushup bra, a friend who always makes her laugh) - credited incorrectly to Maya Angelou? I think "an ex who is still hung up on you" is one of those. It's a rite of passage, of a sort.
