STYLETHREAD -- LET'S TALK SHOP!

So I shopped at Target on my lunch break and found these mules:

I like them for their certain summer outfits to all mid-fall outfits wearability (it doesn't get cold here til well into November.)  I tried them on but was a little wierded out by seeing my whole big toe through the open part.  My heel fit fine in the back and I can't go down another size because 5.5 is the smallest available.  So do any of you own them or have you tried them on?   I mean, are you supposed to see your toes... ALL of them?  Am I the only one who thinks it's weird?  I do like them and they're on sale for $12.... I just want to make sure they LOOK right. 

Also, the big T is having a massive clearance on shoes right now.
