we are encouraged to make a lifebook or scrapbook about the journey of adoption for our daughter to be.....with photos, memorabilia, etc.

i found this one at Pottery barn and then we could hang it in her room.  i thought it might be more fun that a regular scrapbook.

what do you guys think?

I think its a cute idea.  If it is in your price range (since its PB) then I'd say go for it.  If it is somewhat out of your price range you could make something similar with a regular scrapbook and some wood.

I just saw that in the catalog the other day and LOVED it. But I do think that lsu has a point about making it yourself -- it would be pretty easy.

I love that!  I wish I had thought of it before PB

I really like it. And how cute is that nautical-themed room! I can't wait until our first PB opens next month.

Are you able to turn the pages to display the different pages?  I think it is really cute though.

Very cute idea. This way you can hang it up and it won't be stuck in a drawer somehwere never to be seen again.

Just to give you another idea.  My friend adopted from China, and her mother threw her a baby shower.  At the shower she had a picture of Maya in a frame with a matte around it and everybody signed welcome wishes to Maya.  It hangs in her room now.  It's such a great thing that she can look back on when she gets older and read what everybody wrote to her.

Those are BOTH such great ideas...scrapbook and picture.  I'm adopted and often wish I had something tangible to look at...to give me a sense of my history.

Maybe we ST'ers will just have to throw you an online shower!
